How and why truck accidents happen

How and why truck accidents happen

A few weeks ago, we wrote a post about trucks, speeding, and the concept of applying technology to these vehicles to limit how fast they travel on the road. Today, we want to deviate from that conversation a little bit while still discussing the general concept of truck accidents. Instead of focusing on just speeding, let’s talk about the many different causes of truck accidents, and how the victims of these accidents could use the circumstances of the wreck to support their personal injury lawsuit.

Yes, speeding is a significant reason why trucks get into accidents. But another significant contributor to these wrecks is the driver. Did they get enough sleep before getting behind the wheel of the truck? Were they intoxicated or distracted while operating their vehicle? Did they perform a proper and thorough inspection of their truck to make sure it was safe to be on the road?

Depending on the answers to these questions, the aftermath of a truck accident would be perceived in a very different way.

There is also the matter of the cargo being towed by the truck. Was it properly loaded into the truck bed, or was it imbalanced? Did the cargo meet the regulations and laws pertaining to maximum weight for a truck? If not, why was the truck driver or trucking company negligent?

There are so many ways that a truck accident can occur. When they happen, the lives of innocent people hang in the balance. Hold irresponsible parties accountable for their reckless decisions.
