Injured city worker may choose to file for workers’ compensation

When Pennsylvania workers are injured on the job, they may not know how to proceed in light of such an event. Luckily, many could be entitled to file for workers’ compensation, which could provide financial assistance to injured employees. A city worker in another state might choose to file after being hurt while working on the road.

According to police, the man worked for the city. He was driving a truck used for painting lines on the shoulder of the highway in the early morning hours. For reasons that have yet to be determined, a car with four occupants crashed into the work truck. Authorities have not stated whether charges will be filed against the driver of that car.

Few details on the conditions of those involved in the accident have been released at this time. The city worker is said to have been injured and taken to the hospital, though the extent of his injuries was not revealed. It is unknown whether any of the occupants of the other vehicle suffered injuries.

Employees who are injured on the job may face sudden unexpected medical bills and possibly lost wages. To help cope with these potentially significant financial burdens, workers could choose to file for workers’ compensation benefits. When successful, these types of claims can provide monetary benefits that could be used to cover such costs. Anyone who has suffered an accident while working could contact an experienced Pennsylvania workers’ compensation attorney to learn more about these types of claims as well as obtain assistance in filing them and/or any appropriate third party personal injury claims in civil court.
