Go-kart parade accident causes severe injuries

During day-to-day activities, most people do not give safety a second thought. There is always the risk of a car accident, slip-and-fall or work injury. However, one freak accident can send a person’s life spiraling out of control. While trying to recover from unexpected injuries, feeling helpless is quite normal.

A recent example involves a parade in Hudson, Wisconsin, where friends and families gathered to enjoy the festivities. The event ended in tragedy when a go-kart driver lost control and drove into a young man and his family.

The crash resulted in serious injuries for both Parker Reimer and his mother. Their day-to-day activities are now filled with doctor visits and physical therapy. The medical bills are piling up, exceeding $100,000 combined for both victims. While the Shriners offered a settlement, it was not enough to compensate for the damages. The battle is ongoing.

Filing for personal injury in Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania has time limits on when you can file a personal injury suit. While you have two years from the date of the injury, time is of the essence, especially with overwhelming medical bills. If you do not file within the two-year window, the Pennsylvania court system will consequentially refuse your case.

Personal injury claims can get complex. Too much is on the line, so it is important to seek experienced legal counsel. Both individuals and families can suffer from rising medical bills and crippling debt after a devastating personal injury. Those hospital bills should not have to come out of your pocket.
